Create a Simpsons Character
Creating your own Simpsons Character certainly qualifies as creative. You can do this on the Simpsons Movie website (hat tip Extreme Craft). It may not be as creative as some other crafty endeavors but it is interesting to see the software and watch how the character changes as you select different eyes, mouths and hair colors. Too bad there were no glasses - New York Magazine's Vulture blog seemed disappointed by this as well.
There's been far too much Simpsons lately with the movie and all the spider pig singing but the character maker is worth a look.
The SciFi Channel's Hero creator is pretty cool too if you dig this kind of thing. We are also waiting for Elf Yourself 2.0 to come out in time for the holidays.

LEGO Refrigerator Magnets
LEGOs are more popular than ever especially with an online LEGO world in the works. These lego refridgerator magnets (hat tip Make) are a clever idea and should look cool on your fridge.
A few years ago a friend bought me a set of three Lego bricks with magnets in them from when she went to Legoland. You can buy a different set online at the Lego store. I received a set of Magz as a gift and I noticed that the small magnets in the bar component of the toy looked like the right size to fit in the cylinder in the bottom of Lego bricks.
The supplies list is pretty simple: A basic set of Magz or rare earth neodymium magnets (5 mm diameter x 3 or 6 mm long); diagonal pliers or a pocket knife and superglue. Don't forget that you will also need some Legos.
When you are done following the instructions you will have some adorable LEGO magnets for your fridge. Just be sure to keep any small lego magnets away from small children. There have been incidents of little kids having serious intestinal troubles after swallowing small magnetic toys.
