Star Wars Bantha Craft

Bantha Craft Star Wars

There is a fun craft project here on the official Star Wars website that teaches you how to build a cuddly stuffed Bantha. The materials you will need include beige and light tan colored felt squares, tan colored thread, pillow stuffing, chopsticks and buttons (for eyes). They also suggest having a Bantha action figure or photos nearby for reference. There's some pictures here on Wookieepedia.

Proboscian Sippy Mask

Proboscian Sippy Mask

The above Proboscian Sippy Mask is a cool entry in the costumecon from Jennifer Maestre. This would make for part of a very cool alien Halloween outfit. You can actually drink while wearing the bizarre mask. Be sure to check the Etsy listing (via Craftzine) because there is an awesome photo of the Proboscian mask under a black light.
One cool thing about this mask- it has a drinking tube up the proboscis. Nothing stinks more than having to remove your face each time you'd like a sip of something tasty at a party! Plus, it looks wicked pissah, watching red wine run up the tube.
Jennifer Maestre is very talented. Check you all these sculptures she makes with pencil tips.

How to Make a Stormtrooper Snow Globe

My Arts and Crafts has an article about how to make a snow globe. The globe is made using a jar - the jar in the example is a cleaned peanut butter jar. Other items needed include a glue gun, small stones, plastic figure, ribbon or craft tape and glitter. The plastic figure can be a stormtrooper action figure like the one shown in the video below or another object of similar size.
This is a really easy arts and craft project that's a great way for the whole family to get together. Because this craft project calls for the use of a glue gun, kids should only do this project along with their parents. You'll use items you already have around your house, and if you don't, you can probably buy them at the local dollar store or arts and crafts store. If you've been looking for a craft project to help bond with your kids, this may be it!
Full instructions can be found here. You can also watch the helpful video below. In the video the instructor is using a Star Wars toy for the centerpiece of his snow globe. He's making a Stormtrooper Snow Globe!

OK. Now get cracking on your snow globe. The Winter holidays will be here before you know it.

    Gollum Hat For LOTR Fans

Gollum HatLook at this fabulous Gollum hat from Regina Rioux Gonzalez at Crochet Me. It's perfect for fans of fantasy novels. You can wear it and go about complaining of those nasty hobbitses that want your precious.
Want to sport a conversation piece that is as appropriate on the convention circuit as it is for a day of snowboarding? Well then, this hat's for you! Inspired by my favorite LOTR villain, this big-eared chapeau is worked up in warm wool Koigu and created entirely single crochet. Short rows are used to create a wrinkled brow, and easy construction techniques allow even the novice crocheter to tackle this wacky headgear with little problem. It's a satisfying project that is sure to turn heads.
Crochet Me also has the pattern for making the hat. (via Monster Crochet)
